Když teď Evropská unie "je", můžeme mít různé názory na to, co k ní patří, co ne, co je uvnitř, co je vně, kde jsou hanice...
Pro mě je Unie všechno, co je v ní. Členské státy a všechno v nich jsou částí Evropské unie. Prezident Macron je funkcionář Evropské unie. Zastupitelstvo Městksé částí Praha 3 je orgán Evropské unie. Zajímají mě všechny spolupráce lidí. Některé se mi hodí popisovat, jako že se odehrávají uvnitř Evropské unie, jiné vně a ještě jiné částečně uvnitř a částečně vně.
Uvažování o spolupráci "Evropská unie" pro mě do velké míry zastupuje uvažování o lecjakých velkých spolupracích. Místo, abych se snažil říct, něco jako: "Lidská společnost funguje tak a tak," nebo něco jako, "Takové a takové lidské společnosti fungují tak a tak," bavím se o Evropské unii.

Když na chvíli zapomenu, že mám tak velepříhodnou "věc" - Evropskou unii, kdybych se o tom, o čem se chci bavit, bavil bez použítí slovního spojení "Evropská unie", byl by můj předmět zájmu asi něco jako dějiny a současnost a budoucnost lidské spolupráce v Evropě. Pořád nějak okusuju otázku, jak popsat tu Evropskou unii, kterou miluju a které jsem součástí, #MyEU .
Chápu, že existují různé definice a zároveň mi připadá, že různí lidé pracují s hodně různými představami toho, co pro ně je Evropská unie.

Když se snažím něco popsat / definovat / vymezit / poujasnit, docela dobrý postup je zkusit to dotyčné popsat bez použití pojmenování, které pro to dotyčné používám. Takže zkusím napsat, co si tak představuju pod Evropskou unií, aniž bych používal to pojmenování.
Spolupráce / součinnost / souhra / sebespráva / sebeřízení lidí, kteří žili, žijí a budou žít, zhruba na dnešním území Belgie, Bulharska, Chorvatska, Česka, Dánska, Estonska, Finska, Francie, Irska, Itálie, Kypru, Litvy, Lotyšska, Lucemburska, Maďarska, Malty, Německa, Nizozemska, Polska, Portugalska, Rakouska, Rumunska, Řecka, Slovenska, Slovinska, Španělska a Švédska.

Když tak postupně nalézám různé lidi, co se Evropskou unií zabývají, připadá mi záhadné, jak je možné, že já a mnozí další o ní víme tak málo. Potřebujeme těmi lidmi a věděním nějak zakvrdlat, aby se to trochu promíchalo. Co jsou jasně a stručně a srozumitelně popsaná základní vědění o Evropské unii, které by měl znát každý?
