@Pierrette@mastodon.uno , I believe that we, inhabitants and citizens of the European union should cooperate also directly on person-to-person basis. And across the 27 #StatesEU and across 24 #BabelEU. And more than tooting, boosting and liking. I believe such cooperation is benefitial by itself. And then we can have many goals. For me, the most urgent is

to find ways to express / demonstrate our will that the Union should support #Ukraine to win.

I think it is very important to help the Urkaine.
With regard to the EU, I also think that we should work on the individual states transferring more of their national competences to the EU for more EU and less nationalism.
For example, an EU army instead of many national armies would be desirable in these times.

@thegib@mastodon.uno , ano , už je samotná tato dvojjazyčná konverzace je přínosem a vzájemným poznáním. To je super!

U imigrace se trochu bojím, že naše názory nebudou v souladu. Podobně jako u Ukrajiny. Názory mají sklon se v lidech vyskytovat ve skupinách. Já jsem v tomhle hodně extremistický. Jsem vlastně pro volný pohyb osob přes hranice států 🤷

Ale spíš bych hledal téma, kde nebudeme ve velkém protikladu.

Well, we do have European elections coming up for the lower chamber of the EU legislative. And in several countries also elections for the much more powerful upper chamber of the EU legislative, the Council of the EU. #WTFistheCouncil And way too many Europeans want to vote for right wing parties that are either openly hostile to Ukraine (AfD et al) or indirectly damaging by supporting the status quo and austerity (FDP, CDU, EPP in general).

So I'd focus on campaigning for the pro-Ukraine and pro-EU reform parties, even if they may not be your ideal, no.1 choice in national politics. For example, if you're left-wing/progressive pro-EU in Slovakia your best choice is NOT the S&D party, a bunch of corrupt putinist shitgoblins, but the RE party. If you're Czech, RE is a terrible choice, as is Fiala's "euroskeptic" ODS.

Another thing is awareness of #WTFistheCouncil and who runs the EU. Podcast or tiktok about it if you must (or find me a producer for my dream EU politics drama 😏).

Keating asks a question that's been haunting me for years: WHY would anyone vote for an EPP party if you're not a rich farmer/some other oligarch?

And the answer is: because Europeans don't know #WTFistheCouncil and that their national governments run the EU.
